Narrative Mediation

Dr. Sara Cobb will offer Sharing Neutrals a program on a new, exciting form of mediation called "Narrative Mediation."

In narrative mediation, each party involved generates a story of the conflict based on selected information. The goal of narrative mediation is to improve communication and to develop new ways of handling future differences between each party.

Sara Cobb, Director and Associate Professor of the George Mason Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution (ICAR), and previous Executive Director of the Harvard Program on Negotiation, received her Ph.D. in Communication. She has contributed extensively to the literature in the field of communication, particularly in reference to mediation, conflict management and human rights. Her specialty is in narrative mediation.
