Federal Interagency Sharing Neutrals often face institutional challenges when mediating workplace disputes. For example, in some agencies a manager outside an employee’s chain of command serves as the agency representative for the purpose of objectivity. Yet, the manager’s lack of factual knowledge about the dispute can hinder the mediation process.
We will address these questions through an interactive dialogue with participants.
Presenter: Cathy Barchi, Esq., Health Insurance Specialist, U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. Since 2003, Cathy has taught an ADR seminar course and mediation skills certificate course at the University of Baltimore School Of Law. Cathy is a Lead Mediator for the Sharing Neutrals Program.
