Guidelines for presentations to
ADR Steering Committee Workplace Section
In an effort to provide access to the widest variety of information affecting the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) community, the ADR Steering Committee, Workplace Section has established the following guidelines for presenters from the government, education/non-profit, and private sector/for-profit communities.
A) Government:
Individuals who are presenting on behalf of a governmental agency may make presentations for the purpose of education or the dissemination of information subject to the general requirements below.
B) Educational/Non-Profit:
Individuals who are presenting on behalf of an educational or non-profit organization may make presentations for the purpose of education or the dissemination of information subject to the general requirements below.
C) Private Sector/For-Profit:
Individuals who wish to make a presentation on behalf of a private sector or for-profit organization may do so subject to the general requirements below and the following specific requirements.
1. Presenters may not advertise their services. This includes a prohibition on the active dissemination of promotional materials to attendees.
2. Presenters may make information about their services available to the audience if placed in a single spot in the presentation room and left for attendees to take if they choose.
3. Presenters may not inject sales pitches or “commercials” about their services into a presentation.
4. Presenters will not hold themselves out as “endorsed” (or similar language) by the ADR Steering Committee because they made a presentation to our group.
5. The section coordinator reserves the right to review and approve presentation materials prior to any meeting.
6. Presenters will not have access to the list of attendees and must agree in advance that they will not affirmatively contact attendees after a presentation. Presenters may contact a particular attendee if that attendee initiated the contact.
7. The presentation organizer will maintain contact information for the presenter and may refer attendees to that presenter if an attendee affirmatively requests that contact information.
D) General
requirements:
1. Presentations must be for the advancement of the field of alternative dispute resolution and should be for educational purposes or the dissemination of information affecting the field of alternative dispute resolution.
2. Any materials that are distributed to attendees must be for the advancement of the field of alternative dispute resolution and should be for educational purposes or the dissemination of information advancing the field of alternative dispute resolution.
