The Washington/Baltimore HIDTA consists of (Maryland) Baltimore City and Baltimore, Howard, Anne Arundel, Montgomery, Prince George's, and Charles Counties; (Washington, D.C.) District of Columbia; and (Virginia) Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax City, Manassas, Richmond City, Colonial Heights, Hopewell, and Petersburg and Loudoun, Fairfax, Prince William, Hanover, Henrico, Chesterfield, and Prince George Counties.

Baltimore and Washington, D.C. are major cities with populations over 250,000.

Arlington, Alexandria, Richmond, Newport News, and Hampton in Virginia are major cities with populations between 100,000 and 249,999.

Columbia and Silver Spring, Maryland are major cities with populations between 75,000 and 99,999.

BWI and Dulles are international airports.

Baltimore, Maryland and Richmond, Newport News, and Hampton, Virginia are major seaports.

The interstates are I-64, I-66, I-70, I-81, I-83, I-85, I-95, I-97, and I-270.

Route 1 is a U.S. Highway.
