Chicago is a major city with a population over 250,000.

Rockford, Aurora, Naperville, and Joliet, Illinois and Gary, Indiana are major cities with populations between 100,000 and 249,999.

Kenosha, Wisconsin and Waukegan, Elgin, and Cicero, Illinois are major cities with populations between 85,000 and 99,999.

O'Hare and Midway are international airports.

Chicago is a major seaport.

The interstates in the area are I-39, I-43, I-55, I-57, I-65, I-80, I-88, I-90, I-94, I-294, and I-355.

Metropolitan Chicago encompasses McHenry, Lake, DuPage, Kane, Cook, and Will Counties.

The Chicago HIDTA includes Cook, Will, Kendall, and Grundy Counties.

The number of treatment provider services rendered in the Chicago HIDTA region for cocaine was 20,990 in 2003, 19,202 in 2004, 21,063 in 2005, 20,357 in 2006, and 19,238 in 2007.

The number of treatment provider services rendered in the Chicago HIDTA region for heroin was 28,369 in 2003, 25,251 in 2004, 38,611 in 2005, 32,997 in 2006, and 33,169 in 2007.

The number of treatment provider services rendered in the Chicago HIDTA region for marijuana was 12,486 in 2003, 12,582 in 2004, 14,414 in 2005, 13,543 in 2006, and 12,858 in 2007.

The number of treatment provider services rendered in the Chicago HIDTA region for alcohol was 19,223 in 2003, 16,918 in 2004, 18,553 in 2005, 18,844 in 2006, and 18,427 in 2007.
