TULALIP TRIBAL MEMBER PLEADS GUILTY TO SEXUAL ABUSE OF A MINOR

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 8, 2004

JEREMY JABLONSKI, 24, of the Tulalip Reservation pleaded guilty Thursday in U.S. District Court in Seattle to one count of Sexual Abuse of a Minor. The crime is punishable by up to 15 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release. JABLONSKI will be sentenced by U.S. District Judge John C. Coughenour on July 8, 2005 at 9:00 AM.

According to the plea agreement, on July 4, 2004, JABLONSKI, who was then 23-years-old, had sex with a 14-year-old girl. The crime occurred on the Tulalip Reservation so JABLONSKI was prosecuted under federal statutes. Under the terms of the plea agreement, JABLONSKI or the United States, can withdraw from the agreement if Judge Coughenour deviates from an agreed upon sentencing range of 12-14 months in prison followed by two years of supervised release. The supervised release will include a drug and alcohol evaluation and JABLONSKI must follow all treatment recommendations stemming from that evaluation.

The case was investigated by the Tulalip Tribal Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorneys Tessa M. Gorman and Bruce F. Miyake prosecuted the case.
