WASHINGTON, D.C. – Peter C. Anderson of Los Angeles has been appointed United States Trustee for the Central District of California (Region 16), it was announced today by Clifford J. White, III, Acting Director of the Executive Office for United States Trustees. Anderson’s appointment takes effect on August 6, 2006.

“I am very pleased to welcome Peter Anderson as United States Trustee in the Central District of California,” Mr. White stated. “His many years of experience as a commercial and bankruptcy law practitioner, litigator, and Chapter 7 trustee will serve the U.S. Trustee Program well in this important region.”

“I am honored to serve as United States Trustee under Attorney General Gonzales and to assist in implementing the bankruptcy reforms enacted in 2005,” Mr. Anderson stated. “I look forward to working with the Executive Office for U.S. Trustees and to leading the talented and dedicated staff in each of the region’s offices.”

Immediately before his appointment as U.S. Trustee, Mr. Anderson practiced bankruptcy and commercial law in Los Angeles and served for 14 years as a Chapter 7 panel trustee for the Central District of California. Mr. Anderson opened his own practice in 2002 after practicing law since 1988 as a partner in the firm of Roquemore Pringle and Moore. Before joining that firm, he served as an attorney for several federal agencies, including the U.S. Trustee Program. Mr. Anderson received his law degree from Loyola Law School in 1982 and his undergraduate degree cum laude from the University of Southern California in 1979.

The United States Trustee Program is a component of the Justice Department that protects the integrity of the bankruptcy system by overseeing case administration and litigating to enforce the bankruptcy laws. The Program has 21 regions and 95 field offices. Region 16 is headquartered in Los Angeles with additional offices in Riverside, Santa Ana, and Woodland Hills, California.
