The Litigation III Section (Lit III) is responsible for civil antitrust enforcement, competition advocacy, and competition policy in the areas of:

• Motion pictures
• Music publishing
• Concert and event promotion
• Publishing
• Radio
• Television (cable and satellite are handled by the Telecommunications and Media Section)
• Newspapers
• Advertising
• Sports and recreation
• Credit cards
• Real estate (see Competition and Real Estate)

Federal and State Contacts

Radio and television: Lit III reviews radio and television mergers in conjunction with the Federal Communications Commission.

Real estate: Lit III often works closely with the relevant state attorneys general, state legislatures, real estate boards, industry trade groups, and the Federal Trade Commission.
