Honors Program Interview Locations for 2012

Honors Program interview candidates are required to read the Travel Memo located at http://www.justice.gov/careers/legal/hptvmemo.html. Photo ID is required to clear security at all locations.

After you submit your Travel Survey, we will schedule your interview, then fax you an interview notification message that provides specific information about your interview date, time, travel (as required), and interview location. You may also receive travel information from CWT/SATO. Interview scheduling is based on the availability of the interviewing office(s). We list your interview date and time on the fax cover sheet, along information about your interview location and other important information. Be sure to review all comments on the cover sheet. See the Travel Memo for details on interview scheduling, requesting reimbursement for travel costs, what do in case of emergency affecting your travel, and other important information.

Not all components located in the Washington D.C. area interview in the Robert F. Kennedy (Main Justice) building. Please ensure you report to the correction location for your interview. Candidates arriving by air at Reagan/National Airport should use MetroRail to get to interview locations. There is a MetroRail station connected to Reagan/National Airport. Visit www.wmata.com for MetroRail information, including maps, routes and stations. Candidates arriving at Washington Dulles airport should follow the special guidance in the Travel Memo.

1. Robert F. Kennedy (Main Justice) Building (“RFK Building”) Interviews. Names of components interviewing in the RFK Building, room numbers and contact information are listed below. The address is 950 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C., 20530. Candidates must enter the RFK Building through the Visitor's Center on Constitution Avenue, between 9th and 10th Streets. The nearest Metrorail stations are Archives/Navy Memorial (Green/Yellow Lines) located on Pennsylvania Avenue (two blocks from the Constitution Avenue entrance) and Federal Triangle (Blue/Orange Lines) located on 12th Street (two and one-half blocks from the Constitution Avenue entrance). Public parking is extremely limited. The room numbering for the RFK Building can be confusing. We recommend that candidates ask for directions to the interview room after clearing Security.

a. Civil Division: Candidates, except those interviewing with the Federal Programs Branch, should report to Room 7519, RFK Building. Upon entering the Main Justice/RFK bldg., proceed down the central hallway, through the Courtyard, to the Pennsylvania Avenue side of the building, then take the center elevator bank to the 7th floor.  For assistance or to report emergencies or travel delays on the actual day of interview, contact Crystal Roy at (202) 305-2718; or Alexander Kent at (202) 353-2776. Civil Division candidates who are interviewing with Federal Programs Branch and not any other Civil Division branches should follow the directions in paragraph A.2, below.

b. Criminal Division:  (Regular Trial Attorney Candidates only). Candidates should report to the reception area outside Room 2112, RFK Building. c. National Security Division: Candidates should report to Room 7640 and contact Tammy Green, (202) 616-0240. An alternate contact is Emily Sullivan at (202) 514-9839. This is a secure area – call the contact upon arrival for entry. There is a telephone outside the room for this purpose.

d. Tax Division: Upon arriving at the Visitor’s Center, candidates should contact the Tax Division Front Office at (202) 514-2901 or (202) 514-5620. A Tax Division representative will come downstairs to greet the candidate and provide directions to the specific interview room. Candidates will initially report to Room 4141, RFK Building. If assistance is needed, or for emergencies and/or travel delays on the actual day of interview contact Kathleen Lyon at (202) 307-6370, Shawn Noud at (202) 353-9215, or Jennifer Auchterlonie at (202) 514-6060.

2. Washington, D.C. Metro Area Interviews Outside the RFK (Main Justice) Building

a. Antitrust Division: The Antitrust Division will be conducting interviews at the Liberty Square Building, 450 5th Street, N.W. Candidates should report to the Security Office, located on the 5th Street entrance and inform the security officer that they are coming for an interview with the Antitrust Division. Candidates should contact Toni Butterworth at (202) 514-3697 or the main Personnel line at (202) 514-2469. The nearest metro stations are Archives/Navy Memorial (Green/Yellow Lines) or Judiciary Square (Red Line). It is about a 5 – 7 minute walk from either station or from Main Justice to the Liberty Square building.

b.   Civil Division – Federal Programs Branch: The Civil Division will contact candidates selected by the Federal Programs Branch so they know to report to 20 Massachusetts Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20530, (202) 514-8095. Candidates should report at least 5 minutes early and tell the security officer that they are coming for an interview with the Federal Programs Branch. Upon arrival, candidates should call Tamra Moore at (202) 514-8095 for an escort to the interview location. The nearest metro station is Union Station on the Red Line. Candidates should allow 5-7 minutes to walk from Union Station to the 20 Massachusetts Ave. bldg.

c.   Civil Rights Division:  The Civil Rights Division will interview in the Patrick Henry Building, Room LL 1210 (lower leverl), 600 D. Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20004. This is about a 5 minute walk from the RFK Building (Main Justice). Please arrive a few minutes early to clear security. The nearest Metro stations are Archives/Navy Memorial (Yellow and Green lines) and Judiciary Square (Red Line – take the National Police Memorial exit). Point of contact for interviews is Harry Vickers, (202) 514-3934.

d.  Criminal Division – Asset Forfeiture and Money Laundering Fellowship: Candidates should report to 1400 New York Avenue NW, otherwise known as the Bond Building. Your name will be provided to Security so upon checking in with Security, they will contact the AFMLS receptionist at 202- 514-1263 to request an escort for you to the interview. This is about a 15 minute walk from Main Justice (the RFK Building). The nearest Metro stations are Metro Center (Red, Blue and Orange Lines) and McPherson Square (Blue and Orange lines). If debarking at Metro Center, take the 13th Street exit. If debarking at McPherson Square, take the 14th and I Street exit. The building is approximately a 5 minute walk from either station. If you need assistance prior to your interview day, or on the day of your interview, please contact Erin Dawson, (202)305-8308.

e.  Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Administrative Law Judges: DEA will interview at 1550 Crystal Drive, Suite 901, Arlington, VA 22202. Candidates arriving by air should take MetroRail to the Crystal City metro station (on the Yellow and Blue Lines). The building is connected to the Crystal City metro station by the Underground Mall. Candidates should report to the Security Desk at least 5 minutes prior to their interview and call Roxann Eline or Shaunta Newby at (202) 307-8188. An alternate number is (202) 307-7431. Candidates will need to bring photo identification to leave with the security desk in order to enter the building.

f. Environment and Natural Resources Division: Environment and Natural Resources Division:  All candidates should report to Patrick Henry Building, 601 D Street, N.W., Washington, D.C., and report to the Security Desk. Candidates should contact ENRD Main HR # (202) 616-3144, Janelle Marshall (514-5494) or Marcia Jordan Burke (616-3128) for an escort to the Second Floor. Interviews will be conducted in Room 2711. The nearest metro stations are Archives/Navy Memorial (Green/Yellow Lines) or Judiciary Square (Red Line). It is about a 5–7 minute walk from either station.

g. Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR): EOIR will interview at 5107 Leesburg Pike (One Skyline Tower), 25th floor, Falls Church, VA 22041. However, EOIR OCIJ will also conduct interviews at select regional locations. For information about EOIR OCIJ regional interview locations, see Paragraph C, below. EOIR interview candidates should check their fax cover sheets and/or travel documents to confirm the city in which they are scheduled to interview. EOIR will contact candidates to let them know where to report (e.g., to OCIJ, OGC, BIA and OLAP). Candidates selected by more than one EOIR branch should report first to OCIJ.   OCIJ: Candidates for the Office of the Chief Immigration Judge (OCIJ) should report to the Reception Area in Suite 2500.

OGC: Candidates for the Office of General Counsel (OGC) should report to the Reception Area in Suite 2600.
BIA: Candidates for the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) should report to the Reception Area in Suite 2400.
OLAP: Candidates for the Office of Legal Access Program (OLAP) should report to the Reception Area in Suite 2600.
OCAHO: Candidates for the Office of the Chief Administrative Hearing Officer (OCAHO) should report to Suite 2519.

There are three options for local travel to the EOIR Falls Church, VA, Headquarters. The drop point for all shuttle and bus options is the same. Exit the shuttles and busses at the rear entrance of 5113 Leesburg Pike (Four Skyline Place), where the pick- up/drop point is located. Interview candidates arriving by air at Reagan National Airport should use option 1 or option 2, below.

Walking directions to the interview location from the shuttle drop point and the 28F/28G MetroBus stop are available at www.justice.gov/careers/legal/walking-directions.pdf.

(1)  Candidates may take MetroRail to the Pentagon City Metro Station, then transfer to the free Skyline Crystal Express Shuttle (pick-up point is located close to the Metro escalators, on S. Haynes St. near 12th St. by the entrance to Nordstrom). Be prepared to show photo ID and your interview notification if asked to do so. Shuttle schedules and maps of the pick-up and drop points are available at http://skylineofficebuildings.info/pdf/Skyline-BallstonShuttle.pdf. Candidates arriving at Reagan/National Airport should take MetroRail to the Pentagon City station (two stops from the airport on the Yellow and Blue Lines), then transfer to the Skyline Crystal Express Shuttle as described above. Do not take the metro to the East Falls Church or West Falls Church Metro stations.

(2)  Alternatively, candidates may take MetroRail to the Pentagon (three stops from Reagan National Airport), then take the 28F/28G MetroBus to the interview location. MetroBus fare is $1.50. Schedules and maps for the 28F/28G MetroBus are available at http://www.wmata.com/bus/timetables/va/28fg.pdf. If the direct link does not work, simply enter this URL into your browser or go to www.wmata.com and look for the timetable for the 28 F, G, Skyline City Line bus.

h. Federal Bureau Of Prisons (BOP): BOP will interview at 320 First Street, N.W., Washington, DC. Candidates interviewing with BOP should report to the Security Desk and call Mary McBride at (202) 353-0062 or Cindy Lawler at (202) 307-1240. The nearest Metrorail stations are Union Station and Judiciary Square on the Red Line. It is about a 7 minute walk from either station.

i. Office of Information Policy (OIP): The Office of Information Policy will interview at 1425 New York Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. Candidates should arrive at least 10 minutes prior to their interview in order to clear security. Upon arrival, candidates should contact Anne Work at 202-616-5494. Candidates arriving by air should take Metro Rail to the Metro Center station and exit toward 13th and G Street or use the blue and orange subway line to McPherson Square and exit towards 14th Street. If you need assistance prior to your interview, contact Anne Work at Anne.D.Work@USDOJ.gov or Sean O’Neill  at 202-305-2137 or Sean.O’Neill@USDOJ.gov. If you need assistance on the day of your interview, contact Anne, Sean, or OIP’s front desk at 202-514-3642.

j. Office of Privacy and Civil Liberties (OCPL): OCPL will interview at  1331 Pennsylvania Ave., NW (National Place Building), Suite 1000, Washington, DC  20530. The National Place Building, is located a block away from the Metro Center station of the DC MetroRail system. It is easily accessible from Washington Union Station and Washington Reagan National Airport. The simplest way to get to the National Place Building from Union Station is by MetroRail (Red Line).  The simplest way to get to the National Place Building from Reagan National Airport is by MetroRail (Blue Line). Candidate should enter the building through the F Street entrance (located between 13th and 14th streets) and walk forward past the security desk to the main elevator bank. (There should be minimal delay needed to clear security.)  OPCL is located on the 10th floor. Please ring the doorbell to be let into the office. If no one answers the doorbell, please call Pam Moye at (202) 353-3152.

k. U.S. Trustee Program (USTP):  The U.S. Trustee Program will interview at 20 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. Candidates should arrive approximately 5 minutes early, report to the Security Desk, and call Valerie Singley at (202) 616-1013. The nearest Metrorail station is Union Station on the red line. Candidates should allow 10 minutes to walk from Union Station to 20 Massachusetts Avenue, N.W.

B. ANTITRUST DIVISION FIELD OFFICE INTERVIEW LOCATIONS

Field Office Interviews The Antitrust Division’s Chicago, New York, and San Francisco field offices will interview in their respective cities. The Antitrust Division will schedule those interviews, notify candidates, and make appropriate travel arrangements.

a.Chicago Field Office
The ATR Chicago Field Office will interview at the Rookery Building, 209 South LaSalle St., Suite 600, Chicago, IL 60604. Candidates should contact Janice Swallow at (312) 886-0410 upon arrival.

b.New York Field Office
The ATR New York Field Office will interview at 26 Federal Plaza, Room 3630, New York, NY 10278. Candidates should contact Dania Joaquin at (212) 335-8000 upon arrival.

c.San Francisco Field Office
The ATR San Francisco Field Office will interview at 450 Golden Gate Avenue, Room 10-0101, San Francisco, CA 94102. Candidates should contact Jan Cummins at (415) 436-6660 upon arrival.

C. EXECUTIVE OFFICE FOR IMMIGRATION REVIEW REGIONAL INTERVIEW LOCATIONS:  
Candidates interviewing with the Executive Office for Immigration Review Office of the Chief Immigration Judge will be routed to the nearest regional interview site. The Assistant Chief immigration Judges at the courts listed below have specified their available dates for interviews. EOIR candidates who are selected by more than one component or who have a scheduling conflict may be required to interview in the Washington, D.C. Metro area. 

San Diego, CA: Available October 16-19, and October 30 – November 1 only. Not available on Thursday afternoons.

The San Diego Immigration court is located at 401 West A Street, Suite 800, in downtown San Diego at the corner of West A Street and Columbia Street. Prior to reporting to the 8th floor, candidates will be required to clear security. The security office on that floor will also have your name listed for interview that day. At the front window, ask for Glenda Viray, Administrative Assistant to the Asst. Chief immigration Judge, who will be paged to escort you to the waiting area for your interview. Candidates arriving at San Diego International Airport who are not authorized an overnight stay (i.e., are arriving and departing the same day) should take a taxi to and from the interview site. Taxi fare from the airport is approximately $11 round trip. Local candidates should be advised that parking is difficult, expensive, and limited within San Diego. You may wish to explore alternate travel means or park at the Airport or other public facility and take a taxi.

New York, NY: Available October 22-26, only.

The New York Immigration court is on the 12th floor of 26 Federal Plaza in downtown New York. Prior to reporting to the 12th floor, candidates will be required to clear security. In the lobby, there are multiple sets of elevators. Look for the elevator bank marked 1-12 or 12-21 and take it to the 12th floor. Once on the 12th floor, you will immediately see signs for the Immigration Court. At the front window, ask for Felicia Ward, Administrative Assistant to the Asst. Chief Immigration Judge, who will be paged to escort you to the waiting area for your interview.

Transportation:

Subway Information: Candidates traveling from the east side in mid-town Manhattan should take the 4 or 5 Express subway trains or the  6  Local subway train from the Grand Central Subway Station to the Brooklyn Bridge Station (approximately 10 minute ride on the express  or a 20 minute ride on the local). If traveling from the west side of Manhattan, they should take the West Side IRT subway 2 or 3 or the 8th Avenue line “A” subway to Chambers Street Station and walk  1 block east to Broadway and then 2 blocks north towards Canal Street and our office is located on Broadway between Duane and Worth Street.  Subway Metro card cost is $2.25 each way; a Metro card must be purchased at the subway station.

If arriving by air at JFK or La Guardia airports, there is bus transportation provided by NYC Airporter Express Bus which conveniently drops off passengers at Grand Central Terminal Station, East 42nd Street, where the candidate can take the subway to our office (see Subway Information above). The bus transportation fee from JFK is $15.50 each way.  Bus transportation from La Guardia is $12.50 each way or $22 round trip. Buses run every half hour. If arriving by air at Newark, candidates can use the Newark Airport Express bus that costs $16 each way and $28 round trip. The bus will drop off passengers at Grand Central Station Terminal at East 42nd Street where one can take the subway to our office (see Subway Information, above).

Train Transportation:  For those who are traveling to NYC via train/rail system, there are two major train stations-

  • Penn Station, West Side of Manhattan at 32-34th Street; there are 2 subway lines at 34th Street adjacent to Penn Station: Upon arrival, candidates can take the “A” train at the 34th Street station; or the IRT West Side subway lines # 2 or 3 at the 34th Street station to the Chambers Street Station (see Subway Information, above)
  • Grand Central Train Station where the east side subway lines are easily accessible (see Subway Information, above).

Taxis from Airports: There is reliable and available public transit service in New York City.  Candidates will be reimbursed at the rates applicable for bus or train transportation (including subway fares). Taxi information is provided as a courtesy, with the caveat that candidates will not be reimbursed for costs exceeding the public transit fares.

  • From John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport, Queens County, to lower Manhattan there is a flat taxi fee of $52 (plus a NY State tax surcharge of $.50 will be added on the trip).
  • From La Guardia International Airport, Queens County: There is no set NYC taxi fare for trips to and from La Guardia. The regular NYC taxi metered rate of fare applies.
  • From Newark Liberty International Airport, New Jersey: To NYC, the fare is negotiated in advance.
  • From NYC to Newark, the NYC taxi fare is the regular metered rate of fare, plus a $17.50 surcharge, plus all tolls going to and returning from the airport.

San Antonio, TX: Available October 15-19 only.

The San Antonio Immigration Court is located in downtown San Antonio across from the city landmark – Market Square. Prior to reporting to the Court, candidates will be required to clear security. The security officer on that floor will also have your name listed for interview that day. At the front window, ask for Marion Hicks, Court Administrator, or Linda Rodarte, Administrative Assistant to the Asst. Chief Immigration Judge, who will be paged to escort you to the waiting area for your interview.
                      

MapQuest provides excellent directions to the Immigration Court. There are parking garages located under and adjacent to the building. Candidates arriving at San Antonio Airport who are not authorized an overnight stay (i.e., are arriving and departing the same day) should take a taxi to and from the interview site. Round trip taxi fare from the airport is approximately $60.00

D. U.S. ATTORNEY’S OFFICES INTERVIEW LOCATIONS

1. USAO for the District of Arizona: The District of Arizona will interview at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Two Renaissance Square, 40 N. Central Ave., Ste. 1200, Phoenix, AZ 85004. The office is physically located at the southeast corner of 1st Ave and Adams, despite having a Central Avenue address. Candidates should arrive at least 5 minutes early to clear security. Upon arrival, candidates should contact Carrie Dokken, Assistant to FAUSA and EAUSA, at 602-514-7735.
Candidates arriving by air should note that Phoenix Light Rail is available from the airport to the office. After taking a free airport shuttle to the light rail station, candidates should take the train westbound towards downtown Phoenix. Exit at the Washington/Central Ave stop. When you exit the train, you will be on Adams/Central. The office is one block west, on the corner of Adams and 1st Avenue. Candidates electing to take a taxi at their own expense should note that a taxi to the office from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport is approximately $20.00

2.  USAO for the Central District of California: The Central District of California will interview at 312 North Spring Street (12th Floor), Los Angeles, California. Candidates should report to the 12th floor and contact Christine Salazar, Secretary to the Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney, at (213) 894-5633.
Interview candidates arriving at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) or Burbank Airport who are not authorized an overnight stay (i.e., are arriving and departing he same day) should take a taxi to and from the interview site. Round trip taxi fare from LAX is approximately $100 - $120; slightly less from Burbank. This is a reimbursable expense. Remember to request a receipt from the driver. Due to the cost, you must submit a receipt with your reimbursement request.

Candidates who are authorized an overnight stay should reserve a hotel room in close proximity to the airport and use hotel shuttles between the hotel and the airport, when available. If shuttles are not available, reimbursement for taxi fare will be authorized between the airport and the hotel, the hotel and the interview site, and the interview site and the airport. For planning purposes, please note that round trip taxi fare between LAX and the U.S. Attorney’s Office is approximately $100 - $120. Receipts are required when requesting reimbursement for taxi fare because of the cost. The Department will not authorize reimbursement for multiple trips between the interview site and the hotel: candidates staying overnight prior to an interview should check out the morning of the interview and take their luggage with them to the interview site; candidates remaining overnight following an interview should proceed directly to the interview site upon arrival and check into the hotel following the interview.

3. USAO for the Southern District of California: The Southern District of California will interview at the United States Attorney’s Office, 880 Front Street, Room 6293, San Diego California, 92101. Upon arrival, candidates should contact Nitza Williamson at (619) 546-9273. Interview times are 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. A lunch break is provided. Candidates should arrive 10-15 minutes early to clear security. In order to gain access to the federal building, a valid identification (e.g., a driver’s license or U.S. passport) must be presented. Elevators are available in the lobby are to the 6th floor. Upon arriving at the 6th floor, please check in with the security guard on duty.
Public transportation is not available to and from the airport. Taxi service is readily available from the San Diego International Airport to the downtown area. The average cost of taxi fare is approximately $16.00 each way. Travel time from the airport to the federal building is approximately 15 minutes. We recommend candidates request a card with taxi information for their return to the airport.
There are several hotels that offer government rates within walking distance to the Federal building and others that offer shuttle service. We recommend that candidates contact the hotels directly to see if they will extend government rates for pre-interview invitational travel. Please contact Nitza Williamson for a list of hotels.

4. USAO for the Northern District of Illinois: The Northern District of Illinois will interview at the Office of the U.S. Attorney, 219 S. Dearborn, 5th floor, Chicago, Illinois. This office is located in the Dirksen Federal Building. Candidates should allow 5 minutes to clear security, and, upon arrival, should contact Maggie Hickey, Executive Assistant U.S. Attorney, at (312) 886-7633. Interviews will start at 10:00 a.m. and run until as late as 4:00 p.m. and may involve multiple rounds of interviews during that day.

Public transportation, the “L,” travels to and from both O’Hare and Midway airports. Candidates should allow one hour for travel to and from either airport.

5.  USAO for the Northern District of Ohio: The Northern District of Ohio will interview at the Office of the U.S. Attorney, 801 West Superior Avenue, Suite 400, Cleveland, Ohio. This office is located in the Carl B. Stokes Federal Courthouse. Candidates should note that the entrance is on Huron Road, even though the street address is listed as West Superior. The main office telephone number is (215) 622-3600. Candidates should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the interview start time. Candidates arriving at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport should take a taxi to the hotel or interview site, as appropriate. The one way cost is approximately $33.00. 6.  USAO for the Southern District of New York: Candidates should use public transit (bus, train or shuttle service) from airports/train stations to Manhattan.

The Southern District of New York will interview at One St. Andrew’s Plaza, Room 834, New York, NY 10007 (lower Manhattan). Upon arrival, candidates should allow 5-10 minutes to clear security, then contact Federico Virella, 212-637-2568; or his administrative assistants: Connie Collegio; 212-637-2409; or Terry Williams, 212-637-2569. One of these contacts will meet candidates in the lobby once the security guards advise that the candidate has signed in. The office is a brown brick building, is located approximately 100-200 feet across the NYC Municipal Building/Chambers Street and in the middle of St. Andrew’s Plaza. The NYC Municipal Building sits immediately by the exit of the Brooklyn Bridge. The Southern District of New York is housed in a building standing between St. Andrew’s Church and NYC Police Headquarters and is adjacent to the two U.S. Courthouses at 40 Foley Square and 500 Pearl Street.

Subway Information: Candidates traveling from the east side in mid-town Manhattan should take the #4 or #5 Express subway trains or the #6 Local subway train from the Grand Central Subway Station to the Brooklyn Bridge Station (approximately 10-15 minute ride). If traveling from the west side of Manhattan, they should take the West Side IRT subway #1, 2, 3 or the 8th Avenue line “A” subway to Chambers Street Station and walk east on Chambers Street towards the NYC Municipal Building and our office. Subway Metro card cost is $2.50 each way; a Metro card must be purchased at the subway station.

If arriving by air at JFK or La Guardia airports, there is bus transportation provided by NYC Airporter Express Bus which conveniently drops off passengers at Grand Central Terminal Station, East 42nd Street, where the candidate can take the subway to our office (see Subway Information above). The bus transportation fee from JFK is $15.50 each way. Bus transportation from La Guardia is $12.50 each way or $22 round trip. Buses run every half hour. If arriving by air at Newark, candidates can use the Newark Airport Express bus that costs $16 each way and $28 round trip. The bus will drop off passengers at Grand Central Station Terminal at East 42nd Street where one can take the subway to our office (see Subway Information, above).

Train Transportation: For those who are traveling to NYC via train/rail system, there are two major train stations-

  • Penn Station, West Side of Manhattan at 32-34th Street; there are 2 subway lines at 34th Street adjacent to Penn Station: Upon arrival, candidates can take the “A” train at the 34th Street/8th Avenue station; or the IRT West Side subway lines #1,2,or 3 at the 34th Street/7th Avenue station to the Chambers Station (see Subway Information, above)
  • Grand Central Train Station where the east side subway lines are easily accessible (see Subway Information, above).

Taxis from Airports: There is reliable and available public transit service in New York City. Candidates will be reimbursed at the rates applicable for bus or train transportation (including subway fares). Taxi information is provided as a courtesy, with the caveat that candidates will not be reimbursed for costs exceeding the public transit fares.

From John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport, Queens County, to lower Manhattan there is a flat taxi fee of
$52 (plus a NY State tax surcharge of $.50 will be added on the trip).

From La Guardia International Airport, Queens County: There is no set NYC taxi fare for trips to and
from La Guardia. The regular NYC taxi metered rate of fare applies.

Fom Newark Liberty International Airport, New Jersey: To NYC, the fare is negotiated in advance.

From NYC to Newark, the NYC taxi fare is the regular metered rate of fare, plus a $17.50 surcharge,
plus all tolls going to and returning from the airport.

7. USAO for the Western  District of Texas: The Western District of Texas will interview at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 816 Congress Avenue, Suite 1000, Austin, Tx 78701. Upon arrival, candidates should contact Lori Wilson at (512) 370-1251. Please allow 10 minutes to clear security upon arrival. The nearest airport is the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, which is approximately 15 miles from the interview site. Shuttle service is available and costs $14 each way.  Upon arrival, candidates can proceed to the Lower Level to the SuperShuttle ticket counter (past carousel 1) and arrange for a shuttle to the U.S. Attorney’s Office (816 Congress Street, Ste 1000). At that time, they can also arrange for return transportation back to the airport. The contact number for the Shuttle Service is 512-258-3826. Additional information is available at http://www.supershuttle.com/Locations/AUSAirportShuttleAustin.aspx. Taxi service is also available and costs approximately $25 each way. Reimbursement will be limited to the cost of shuttle service. Be sure to inform the shuttle service of your interview time. For scheduling return shuttle pick-ups, interviews will last approximately 1 hour.
