The total number ofboxes completec through December 2009 is approximately 197,630. • Movement of Records The Bureau ofIndill1 Affairs (BIA) and Office ofthe Special Trustee (OST) moved 730 boxes cf inactive records from various field locations to Lenexa, Kansas, for indexirg and subsequent storage at the American Indian Records Repository (AIRR) during this reporting period. • Site Assessments Statement During the month 0 'December, OTRA did not perform any records management assessments. OTRA issued five records management assessment reports, one each at the following locati')lls: Warm Springs Agency BIA office; Warm Springs Agency OST IIM field offic~; OST Office ofAppraisal Services, Rocky Mountain Region; Crow Agency BIA nffice; and Northern Cheyenne Agency BIA office. • Records Training In December 2009, OTR provided records management training for 45 BIA/OST records contacts and 3 tribal employees. • Litigation Support ll1d Research Requests OTR continued to provide significant support to the Office ofthe Solicitor, Office ofHistoricalTrust Accountingandits contractors,theDepartment ofJusticeand its contractors, and tribal attorneys and their contractors. OTR continued to receive requests fo' information regarding litigation-related document requests. Many of these reql.ests have very short deadlines. During December :~009, OTR AIRR staffprovided responses to 172 non­litigation research requests from BIA and OST.
