The Federal Tort Claims Act Litigation Section (FTCA Section) is headquartered in downtown Washington, DC just one block away from the Metro Center Metro station. It periodically provides employment opportunities. All employment offers are contingent upon the applicant successfully passing a background investigation.
Attorneys may join the FTCA Staff directly from law school or after a judicial clerkship only through the Attorney General’s Honors Program. After at least two years of practice, a limited number of attorneys may be hired through the experienced attorney hiring program. Support staff positions may be available through the Federal Career Intern Program (FCIP). In the FCIP Program, candidates are appointed to a two-year internship, and upon successful completion of the internship the intern may be eligible for permanent placement.
