On May 11, 2015, Daniel J. Solomon, an employee of a construction company that purported to specialize in home building and repairs, including repairs involving so-called construction defects, was sentenced, in a 5K1.1 downward departure, to 15 months in prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release; no restitution was ordered. Solomon pleaded guilty in November 2011 to one count of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud charged in a November 2011 information. Solomon, who served as a straw buyer and corrupt board member at one HOA, did not testify at trial but provided information that resulted in the pre-trial guilty pleas of other defendants.
