WASHINGTON, D.C. - Sharee M. Freeman, Director of the United States Justice Department's Community Relations Service (CRS), received the 2006 Public Service Award from the Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund (SALDEF). The award was presented to Director Freeman at the 10th Annual SALDEF Celebration and Leadership Conference Banquet on Monday, June 19, 2006, at the Russell Senate Office Building in Washington D.C.
The 2006 Public Service Award recognizes a federal agency official who brings dynamic leadership, dedication and commitment to their agency. CRS works extensively with SALDEF to develop cultural competency in communities across the nation.
