NOTICE TO POTENTIAL VICTIMS OF RACIAL DISCRIMINATION AT COLLEGE SQUARE APARTMENTS, DAVIE, FLORIDA

On August 26, 2009, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida entered a Consent Decree resolving a housing discrimination lawsuit brought by the United States against C.F. Enterprises, LLC, Craig Forman, and Don Murroni. The lawsuit alleged that the Defendants engaged in a pattern or practice of housing discrimination against African-Americans at College Square Apartments in Davie, Florida, in violation of the Fair Housing Act.

Under the Consent Decree, a Settlement Fund has been established to compensate persons whose rights may have been violated by the Defendants listed above. You may qualify to recover from this Settlement Fund if you inquired about renting an apartment at College Square Apartments (located at 6600 SW 39th Street in Davie, Florida) and – because of your race or color – you were told that no apartments of the type you wanted were available for inspection or for rent at the time you wanted. You also may qualify to recover if a rental agent or representative of College Square Apartments expressed to you any racial preference for the rental of apartments or offered different rental terms or costs because of your race or color.
