Domestic Violence Homicide Prevention Initiative Announcement

This event declared the need to reduce the prevalence of domestic violence homicides. Attorney General Eric Holder joined with Vice President Joe Biden to announce domestic violence homicide grants being awarded to cities. These awards will support law enforcement initiatives that seek to prevent the incidence of domestic violence and potentially resulting homicides. Vice President Biden and Attorney General Holder were joined by Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley, Montgomery County Sheriff Darren Popkin, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin, Westminster, Maryland Police Chief Jeffery Spaulding, and advocate Janet Blackburn.
