Chesterfield County Residents Sentenced for Illegal Prescription Drugs

JAN 26 -- Columbia, South Carolina---- United States Attorney W. Walter Wilkins stated today that Jonathan Simpson, age 25, Vikki Lee Simpson, age 38, and Crystal Boatright, age 21, all of Pageland, South Carolina, and Frankie Price, age 57, and Angela Langley, age 48, both of Jefferson, South Carolina, were sentenced in federal court in Florence for conspiracy to possess Oxycontin, a controlled substance, with the intent to distribute. United States District Judge Terry L. Wooten sentenced Jonathan Simpson to 72 months imprisonment; Vikki Lee Simpson to 24 months imprisonment; and Frankie Price to 37 months imprisonment. Crystal Boatright and Angela Langley were each sentenced to three years probation.

From June 2006 through July 2007, Jonathan Simpson created prescriptions for OxyContin using a computer at a library in Monroe, North Carolina. He then forged the signature of a doctor on the prescriptions. His wife Vikki Simpson and others went to different pharmacies in North and South Carolina to fill the prescriptions, and assisted Simpson in distributing the pills.

The case was investigated by the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office and agents of the DEA Diversion. Assistant United States Attorney William E. Day, II, of the Florence office handled the case.
