Sumter Woman Indicted for Illegal Distribution of Narcotics

DEC 17 -- Columbia, South Carolina ---- United States Attorney W. WALTER WILKINS stated today that KEYONA K. WILLIAMS, age 23, of Sumter, was charged in a two-count Indictment with Illegal Distribution of Controlled Substances, a violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 841(a)(1). Count 1 charges her with distribution of Hydrocodone, a Schedule III controlled substance. Count 2 charges distribution of Xanax and Alprazolam, both Schedule IV controlled substances.

W. WALTER WILKINS stated the maximum penalty KEYONA K. WILLIAMS could receive is a fine of $500,000 and/or imprisonment of 10 years for Count 1, and a fine of $250,000 and/or imprisonment of 5 years for Count 2.

Mr. Wilkins stated that the case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and that he has assigned the case to Assistant United States Attorney Winston D. Holliday of the Columbia office for prosecution.
