Rembert Man Sentenced in Drug Trafficking Case

JUN 16 -- Columbia, South Carolina---- United States Attorney William N. Nettles and Rodney G. Benson, Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s Atlanta Field Division, stated today that Isaac Nelson, age 33, of Rembert, South Carolina, was sentenced in federal court in Columbia, South Carolina, for his role as a multi-kilogram cocaine and marijuana trafficker. Evidence in the case tied Nelson directly to one of his drug suppliers.  Agents seized nearly $40,000 in cash and two firearms from Nelson.    

United States District Judge Cameron M. Currie of Columbia sentenced Nelson to 240 months imprisonment.

The case was investigated by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the Drug Enforcement Administration.  Assistant United States Attorney James Leventis of the Columbia office handled the case.
