PR Most Wanted Fugitive Arrested in St. Thomas, VI
Alexis Candelario-Santana, aka El Boxeador wanted in connection with murders

DEC 17 -- SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico- Puerto Rico’s most wanted fugitives, Alexis Candelario-Santana, aka “Alexis EL Poxeador” was arrested in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officers as he and other individuals attempted to enter the Port of Charlotte Amalie in a 30 foot private boat arriving form Puerto Rico. Candelario-Santana was wanted in the District of Puerto Rico for federal firearms violations pursuant to a Grand Jury indictment. The arrest warrant was issued in the Distinct of Puerto Rico in October 17, 2009 pursuant to a joint investigation by DEA, FBI, ATF, ICE, USMS and PRPD of the “La Tombola” massacre. In this massacre 8 individuals, including a 9 year old girl and an unborn baby where killed in a shootout when members of a rival drug trafficking organization attacked a bar owned by another drug trafficker. In addition 21 individuals where wounded. Candelario-Santana is believed to be the mastermind of the massacre and one of the shooters.
