The cocaine was in eleven vacum packed, heat sealed packages concealed inside the gasoline tank of a pick-up truck that was used to smuggle the cocaine to Rockford, Illinois. The wholesale value of 10 kilograms cocaine is approximately $240,000, with a street distribution value of around $2 million.

“This seizure is another example of cooperative law enforcement,” stated Mr. Olenkiewicz. “Drug law enforcement partnerships are invaluable in the successful investigation and prosecution of illegal narcotics organizations. The DEA will continue working together with our state and local partners to keep our neighborhoods safe from the threat illegal substances pose to the community.”

Agents arrested two men in connection with the cocaine. Ramon Sanabria Albor, age 33 of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Delvin R. Dixon, age 30 of Rockford, Illinois were arrested on state charges of possession with intent to deliver more than 900 grams of a substance containing cocaine in violation of the Illinois Controlled Substances Act. The case is being prosecuted in Winnebago County.

During a search of Dixon’s residence, 1119 Shenandoah Avenue, Rockford, agents seized a loaded .44 Magnum Smith & Wesson revolver, a digital scale and cocaine packaging materials.

The DEA Task Force investigates large scale drug trafficking organizations having a regional, national and international impact. The DEA Task Force encourages persons with information of large scale drug traffickers to call the Rockford, IL DEA office at (815) 987-4494.
