18th Street Drug Dealer Sentenced to Seven Years for Crack Cocaine Distribution Charges
DEC 22 -- (Owensboro, KY) - U.S. Attorney David L. Huber of the Western District of Kentucky announced today that on December 19, 2008, Andre Green, age 26, of 1543 East 18th Street, Owensboro, Kentucky, was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment in United States District Court, Owensboro, Kentucky, for charges of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and cocaine. U.S District Judge Joseph H. McKinley Jr., also sentenced Green to 5 years supervised release following incarceration. There is no parole in the federal judicial system.
Green pled guilty and admitted that on September 21, 2006, in Daviess County, Kentucky, he knowingly and intentionally possessed with the intent to distribute 56 grams of crack cocaine and 12 grams of powder cocaine, worth about $6,800 on the street.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Daniel P. Kinnicutt, and it was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Owensboro Police Department, Street Crimes Unit.
