Western Kentucky Man Charged With Meth Distribution
-Lucas Blake accused of selling, possessing methamphetamine

JAN 06 - OWENSBORO, KY - United States Attorney Candace G. Hill of the Western District of Kentucky announced today that a federal grand jury in Bowling Green, Kentucky, returned an indictment on January 4, 2010, against Lucas Blake, age 29, of Henderson, Kentucky, on charges of distributing and possessing methamphetamine.

The Indictment alleges that on June 20, 2009, Blake distributed over five grams of methamphetamine, a Schedule I controlled substance.  The Indictment also charges Blake with possessing with the intent to distribute methamphetamine on August 1, 2009.  

In the event of a conviction, the maximum potential penalties are 40 years imprisonment, a $2,000,000 fine, and supervised release for life.  The minimum potential penalties are 5 years imprisonment, and supervised release for a period of 4 years.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Robert Bonar, and it was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Kentucky State Police, the Henderson County Sheriff's Department and the Webster County Sheriff's Department.

Blake is scheduled to appear for arraignment before the United States Magistrate Judge on January 21, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., in Owensboro, Kentucky.

The indictment of a person by a Grand Jury is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
