Bullitt County Couple Indicted for Possession with Intent to Distribute Oxycontin
- Joint investigation by DEA and the Louisville Metro Police Department

APR 13 -- LOUISVILLE, KY - A federal grand jury in Louisville returned an indictment against Christopher Arevalos, age 34, of Brooks, Kentucky, in Bullitt County, and Crystal Frey, age 23, of the same address, on charges of possession with intent to distribute Oxycontin, United States Attorney Candace G. Hill of the Western District of Kentucky announced today.

The Indictment alleges that on March 5, 2010, in Jefferson County, Kentucky, the defendants assisted each other with intentionally possessing with the intent to distribute an unspecified quantity of Oxycontin, a powerful opiate prescription medication.

In the event of a conviction, the maximum potential penalties are a term of imprisonment for twenty years, a fine of $1,000,000, or both, and a term of supervised release of three years.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Larry Fentress, and it was investigated by the Louisville Metro Police Department and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Arevalos and Frey are scheduled to appear for arraignment before the United States Magistrate Judge on April 20, 2010, at 9:30 a.m., in Louisville, Kentucky.
