DEA New Jersey Division Celebrates
MAR 30 -- On March 30, 2006 the DEA New Jersey Division celebrated the 2006 National Women’s History Month “Making a Difference…Women in Leadership” program for all DEA personnel and invited guests.
The program began with the Mistress of Ceremony D/I Evangela A. Forbes highlighting the morning events. Ms. Lisa Charles sang the Star Spangled Banner and Elder Freddie R. Anderson gave the invocation. Soon after, Acting Special Agent in Charge Brian F. Donga opened the program and welcomed all. Shortly after, Jaswatee Ramlackan delivered the Women Leaders of Today poem. DEA New Jersey Division was honored to have the Honorable Patty Shwartz, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the District of New Jersey as a guest speaker.
The Keynote speaker for the celebration was Ms. Jodi L. Avergun, Chief of Staff, Office of the Administrator, Drug Enforcement Administration. Ms. Avergun delivered an inspirational speech that moved all at the division.
Special reorganization was given to future women leaders, all of whom were children of DEA New Jersey employees. These young ladies are making a difference today through their achievements and excellence in everything they do.
S/A Towanda R. Thorne closed the program and presented Certificates of Appreciation to the speakers along with Acting SAC Donga.
