DEA New Jersey Division Prescription Drug Summit a Success

April 27 (Edison, NJ) -- On April 24, 2012, the DEA New Jersey Division in collaboration with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey and the Office of the Attorney General for the State of New Jersey hosted a prescription drug summit addressing current trends and issues along with possible solutions.

SAC Brian R. Crowell welcomed over 300 physicians, educators, pharmacists, nurses, prevention specialists, substance-abuse professionals and law enforcement officers who would learn about the epidemic of prescription drug abuse.

The daylong conference offered testimonials and insightful presentations on trafficking and abuse trends, pharmacy safety and security and the New Jersey Prescription Monitoring Program, to name a few. In addition, it promoted the upcoming National Prescription Take-Back Day that will take place on Saturday, April 28, 2012.
