Release New Orleans SAC Jimmy S. Fox III Delivers Anti-Drug Message to Fifth Grade Students in Mandeville, Louisiana
JAN 27 - (Mandeville, LA) – On January 27, 2012, SAC Jimmy S. Fox III was a guest speaker at the Lake Harbor Elementary School Drug Awareness Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Graduation Program. The semester long program was taught by Officer James Kindler, a retired Mandeville Police Officer, and consisted of eight fifth grade classes that totaled 216 students. D.A.R.E.'s primary mission is to provide children with the information and skills they need to live drug-and-violence-free lives. The mission is to equip kids with the tools that will enable them to avoid negative influences and instead, allow them to focus on their strengths and potential. Additionally, D.A.R.E. establishes positive relationships between students and law enforcement, teachers, parents, and other community leaders. The program emphasizes that every student should have the opportunity to grow-up healthy, safe, secure, and equipped with the skills needed to succeed in life.
