OCT 3 -- October 2nd the Survivor's Benefit Fund (SBF) in NYC hosted the first annual “Super Chef Dinner” at Del Posto Restaurant located at 85 Tenth Avenue.  This event was a fundraiser for the SBF which is an organization that funds families of DEA agents killed in the line of duty.

As part of DEA investigations, agents and officers put their lives on the line every day.  Unfortunately the DEA has had 75 employees killed in the line of duty. The Survivor’s Benefit Fund is a means for our DEA family to take care of those agents, officers and staff who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.  Since the SBF’s inception, over $1.9 million dollars have been disbursed by the SBF in furtherance of DEA Survivors Benefit Fund goals.  Over 41 DEA families have been financially assisted with death benefits, educational grants and hardship assistance.

The “Super Chef Dinner” was made possible by Del Posto Restaurant as well as the exquisite chefs, Mario Batali, Lidia Bastianich and Joe Bastianich.  The New York City Corporate Committee of the SBF was responsible for organizing this event which will support those in need of the SBF’s assistance.
