Release Continuing Criminal Enterprise Charge for Two Canadians MAR 06 - (Ottawa, Canada) — On Monday, March 5 the Police Department of Laval (Canada) assisted the Gendarmerie Royale du Canada (GCP) as well as the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) with the arrest of Mario Racine, a 30 year old male from Lavallois, Canada. The arrest was successful due to the collaboration with American authorities who had an interest in a marijuana exportation and distribution organization based in Lavallois with ties to the northern region of New York. The Laval Police Department had previously seized 100 pounds of marijuana on August 9, 2010. Through international law enforcement cooperation the Laval Police Department, the GCP and the DEA worked together to identify Racine’s co-conspirator Jimmy Cournoyer who was arrested on February 17, 2012 and is currently incarcerated in Texas. In this operation 808 marijuana plants were seized as well as the 100 pounds of marijuana which were wrapped/packaged and destined for exportation. Both subjects will face charges of Continuing Criminal Enterprise and other charges related to drugs, weapons and money laundering.
