DEA Arrests Suspected Drug Supplier; Seize 500 Grams of Cocaine and Approximately $25,000 in Operation Pressure Point
APR 17 -- On April 16, 2009, the DEA Task Force working jointly with Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, Philadelphia Police, Chester County District Attorney’s Office and Coatesville Police Department conducted an undercover drug investigation in the vicinity of 26th Street and Allegheny Avenue in Philadelphia. The investigation led to the arrest of Jabari Savage and the seizure of 500 grams of cocaine, approximately $25,000.00 in cash and two vehicles. During the early part of 2008, Jabari Savage had approximately $20,000.00 in cash seized from him by officers of the 39th District during a traffic stop. If convicted, the defendant faces approximately ten (10) years in prison.
The investigation was conducted under Operation Pressure Point, a major law enforcement initiative led by the Philadelphia Police Department and supported by seventeen (17) Federal, State and City agencies. Under Operation Pressure Point, these agencies are working in a coordinated effort to stem violent crime and associated gun and drug trafficking in the most volatile sections of Philadelphia. DEA Acting Special Agent in Charge Robert Niczyporowicz stated “Philadelphia is our home too and we are proud to work alongside the Philadelphia Police, D.A.’s Office and all of our law enforcement partners to make the city safer”.
