Federal Grand Jury Indicts Seven
Drug ring charged with methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin and marijuana

AUG 22 -- (Anchorage, AK) – DEA Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Arnold R. Moorin and the United States Attorney for the District of Alaska, Nelson P. Cohen, announced today, that a federal grand jury returned a 17-count indictment charging the following seven defendants with counts relating to methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin and marijuana:

Ramon Hueso, 26, of Grainger, Washington
Deeann M. Hanson, 41, of Ketchikan, Alaska
Brett D. Clearwater, 39, of Ketchikan, Alaska
Meghan S. Bird, 38, of Ketchikan, Alaska
Jolene J. Lapinski, 33 of Ketchikan, Alaska
Eulogio F. Seludo, 52, of Ketchikan, Alaska
Rodolfo L. Lastimosa, of Ketchikan, Alaska
Michael T. Stanley, 40, of Ketchikan, Alaska

The indictment alleges that in July 2006 and May 2006, the defendants conspired to distribute, and possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, and marijuana, in Ketchikan, Alaska. It further alleges that HUESO and others supplied controlled substances in Washington state for distribution in Ketchikan, Alaska. Additionally, BIRD and others acted as couriers, concealing controlled substances on their persons and traveling from Washington state to Ketchikan, Alaska with controlled substances. HANSON, CLEARWATER, and others coordinated the distribution of controlled substances in the Ketchikan area, while BIRD, LAPINSKI, SELUDO, LASTIMOSA, STANLEY and others distributed the methamphetamine in the Ketchikan. The indictment enumerates over 20 overt acts, including 16 methamphetamine sales in furtherance of the conspiracy.

The Drug Enforcement Administration and the Ketchikan Police Department conducted the investigation leading to the indictments in this case.
