Eugene Meth Dealer to Serve 14 Years in Prison
JAN 08 -- (Eugene) – DEA Acting Special Agent in Charge Mark Thomas and the Acting United States Attorney for the District of Oregon, Kent S. Robinison announced that on January 6, 2010, Jose Luis Michel-Capristo was sentenced to 168 months in federal prison for the crime of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Following his release from prison Michel-Capristo will be on supervised release for a period of five years.
On November 14, 2008, search warrants were executed on Michel-Capristo’s vehicles and residence in Springfield, Oregon. Agents located several ounces of methamphetamine, two handguns, scales, and more than $4,000. As part of his plea agreement, Michel-Capristo admitted he had distributed methamphetamine on a regular basis, and agreed that he was responsible for the distribution of between five and fifteen kilograms of methamphetamine.
This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Lane County Interagency Narcotics Team.
