Lakewood Man Arrested in Large Meth & Heroin Case
APR 30 -- (Seattle) –– Ivan Angulo-Montoya, 25, of Lakewood, Washington was charged today by complaint in U.S. District Court in Tacoma, Washington for distribution of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
According to the complaint, on April 14, 2010, law enforcement purchased one-half pound of 99.5% pure crystal methamphetamine from Angulo-Montoya. On April 28, 2010, Angulo-Montoya was arrested after he exited a residence in Seattle, Washington where approximately 11 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, over one pound of heroin and small quantities of cocaine were seized. Follow up investigation that night resulted in the seizure of approximately $10,000 in cash.
Each offense is punishable by a mandatory term of 10 years in prison and a maximum term of life in prison, mandatory five years of supervised release and up to a $ 4 million fine.
The charges contained in the complaint are only allegations. A person is presumed innocent unless and until he or she is proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Tahoma Narcotics Enforcement Team (TNET) and the Lakewood Police Department Gang Unit. TNET is comprised of members from the DEA, Tacoma Police Department, Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, Washington State Patrol, Puyallup Police Department, Bonney Lake Police Department, Auburn Police Department, Fife Police Department, Department of Corrections, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Pierce County Prosecutors Office.
