PURPOSE: Records are maintained in this system to ensure DEA's compliance with the Environmental Protection Act, the Department of Transportation and other regulatory entities. Also, this system tracks containers and expenditures as they pertain to hazardous waste cleanup and the disposal of chemicals seized at clandestine drug laboratories.

ACCESS CONSTRAINTS: All records in the system are protected from unauthorized access through appropriate administrative, physical, and technical safeguards. These safeguards include restricting access to those with a need-to-know to perform their official duties, using passwords, network administrative functions and/or encrypting data communications.

USE CONSTRAINTS: Users of the database will be restricted to only those privileges necessary to perform assigned tasks.

AGENCY PROGRAM: The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) enforces the controlled substances laws, and regulations by prosecuting individuals and companies ( i.e., those involved in the growth, manufacture and/or distribution) who violate the controlled substances laws or those who are destined for the illicit trafficking of controlled substances within the United States.
