Hutchinson Launches Meth In America Tour
"One of the reasons that I think this tour is important," explained Administrator Hutchinson, "is that meth is not a big city problem. Many of the areas I'll visit on this tour are smaller states that constantly struggle with the enormous social and financial impact of meth. We need to bring attention to this problem in the areas that need it the most." Another goal of the tour is to raise awareness about drug courts and their effectiveness in treating methamphetamine and other drug addicts. The campaign will also present an opportunity for people in communities across the country to offer their perspectives on the rise in methamphetamine abuse. Mr. Hutchinson is excited about this extensive tour and appreciates all the hard work DEA employees at Headquarters and throughout the field are doing to support this effort. "I think this tour is going to make a real difference," said Administrator Hutchinson. "I'm looking forward to hearing from people in communities across the country and to reassuring them that together we can lessen meth's grip on America, town, by town."
