HUTCHINSON AND GIULIANI TO OPEN NATIONAL EXHIBIT ON
DRUGS AND TERRORISM
DEA Museum to Preview New Narco-Terrorism Exhibit September 3

photo - Target America sculptureDEA Administrator Asa Hutchinson and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani will launch a new exhibit - "Target America" - about the contemporary and historic connections between terrorism and drug trafficking on September 3, 2002, at DEA Headquarters in Arlington, VA. The September 3 event will be a special preview for the media and guests, including Attorney General John Ashcroft and White House Drug Czar John Walters, with the exhibit opening to the full public on September 10.

"This is the first exhibit that connects drug trafficking and terrorism graphically and unequivocally for the American public. Opening with a sculpture composed of rubble from the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, the exhibit uses the events of September 11 to tell the historic story of the connection between the violent drug trade and terror, from the Silk Road to the present," said Administrator Hutchinson.

"I am delighted Mayor Giuliani will join me in launching this important exhibit. His name will be forever linked with the heroism and leadership shown by all Americans that terrible day," Hutchinson added.

Mr. Giuliani is also working to raise money to help "Target America" travel to cities across the country. Plans for the nationwide tour include New York, Chicago, Detroit, Dallas and Los Angeles.
