Columbus Man Pleads Guilty to Cocaine Distribution

Columbus, OH- The United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Ohio and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Columbus Office announced the guilty plea in United States District Court of N'Kenley Elmore, 25, of Columbus, Ohio. Elmore plead guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine before U.S. District Judge Algenon L. Marbley. Elmore faces a mandatory prison sentence of 10 years incarceration and a possible fine of up to $4 million dollars.

Elmore is a significant cocaine trafficker who, along with co-conspirators Orlando Elmore and Tyrone Maynus, distributed large quantities of cocaine throughout the Columbus metropolitan area. On June 21, 2002, Logan County Ohio Sheriff's deputies stopped a vehicle occupied by Orlando Elmore and Tyrone Maynus. Investigation located six kilograms of high purity cocaine concealed in a hidden compartment of the 1991 Cadillac. This investigation continued with the DEA Columbus and led to the seizure of more than $30,000 in cash and the arrest of N'Kenley Elmore.

"The work of the Logan County Sheriff's Deputies and their investigative instincts to pursue their initial traffic stop are responsible for putting three major cocaine traffickers from the Columbus area out of business," said DEA Assistant Special Agent in Charge Anthony C. Marotta, who oversees DEA offices in Ohio.
