18th Street Crack Cocaine Dealer Pleads Guilty
- Combined quantity of 68 grams of crack/powder cocaine worth $6,800 on the street

SEP 22 - (Owensboro, KY) - U.S. Attorney David L. Huber of the Western District of Kentucky announced today that Andre Green, age 26, of 1543 East 18th Street, Owensboro, Kentucky, pled guilty to charges of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and cocaine.

Green pled guilty and admitted that on or about September 21, 2006, in Daviess County, Kentucky, he knowingly and intentionally possessed with the intent to distribute 56 grams of crack cocaine and 12 grams of powder cocaine, worth about $6,800 on the street. During the guilty plea hearing, it was revealed that Green was arrested on September 21, 2006, after law enforcement officers seized 56 grams of crack cocaine and 12 grams of powder cocaine from Green’s automobile. Green was also in possession of $2,300 at the time of his arrest.

In the event of a conviction, the maximum potential penalties are life imprisonment, a $5,000,000 fine, and supervised release for a period of at least five years.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Daniel P. Kinnicutt, and it was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Owensboro Police Department, Street Crimes Unit.

Green is scheduled to be sentenced before United States District Judge Joseph H. McKinley, Jr., on December 19, 2008, at 9:00 a.m., in Owensboro, Kentucky.
