Louisville Crack Dealer Sentenced To Ten Years For Possession With Intent To Distribute
- Louisville man sentenced for possession of $265,000 worth of crack and powder cocaine

OCT 6 -- (Louisville, KY) - U.S. Attorney David L. Huber of the Western District of Kentucky announced today that Howard Thomas Gooch, age 32, of Louisville, Kentucky, was sentenced by the Honorable John G. Heyburn, II, Chief Judge, United States District Court, to 10 years imprisonment for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and crack cocaine. Judge Heyburn also sentenced Gooch to 5 years supervised release following incarceration. There is no parole in the federal judicial system.

Gooch was sentenced pursuant an open plea, whereby Gooch admitted that on December 19, 2006, he was in possession of approximately 203 grams of cocaine, and 62.5 grams of crack cocaine, with a total estimated street value of $265,000.00. He admitted that it was his intent to distribute the drugs on the streets of Louisville, Kentucky.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mac Shannon, and it was investigated by the Louisville Metro Police Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
