Phoenix Drug Trafficker Sentenced to 78 Months in Prison
Multiple quantities of methamphetamine, crack cocaine and marijuana seized

DEC 03 -- PHOENIX - Eusebio Sauseda-Martinez, 40, of Chihuahua, Mexico, was sentenced on December 1, 2008 to 78 months in federal prison (with credit for 19 months time served) by U.S. District Judge Susan R. Bolton. Sauseda-Martinez pleaded guilty on July 23, 2008, to Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute 500 grams or More of Cocaine.

Through various investigative methods, Special Agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration learned that a drug trafficking cell was involved in distributing significant quantities of methamphetamine and cocaine in the Phoenix area. DEA agents identified six members of that organization and determined that Sauseda-Martinez was responsible for delivering one kilogram of cocaine to other members of the drug trafficking cell on two different occasions.

On April 7, 2007, Sauseda-Martinez was arrested and officers found $1,042 in cash, 52.2 grams of crack cocaine, 46 grams of powder cocaine, and 5.3 grams of methamphetamine in his possession. During the entire investigation of the drug trafficking cell, between December 2006 and April 2007, law enforcement officials seized approximately four kilograms of methamphetamine, two kilograms of cocaine, smaller amounts of marijuana and crack cocaine, and $62,528 in cash. The other five co-conspirators were sentenced to substantial prison sentences on August 1, 2008.

The investigation in this case was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration. The prosecution was handled by James Morse Jr. and Brian Larson, Assistant U.S. Attorneys, District of A rizona, Phoenix.
