AUG 20 -- Steven W. Derr, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration for New England and Nora R. Dannehy, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that FEBUS ANGEL PACHECO, also known as “Kankan,” 36, of Waterbury, was sentenced today by United States District Judge Mark R. Kravitz in New Haven to 72 months of imprisonment, followed by five years of supervised release.  On October 23, 2007, PACHECO pleaded guilty to one count of possession with the intent to distribute, and distribution of, five grams or more of cocaine base (“crack cocaine”).

According to documents filed with the Court and statements made in court, on several occasions during the spring and summer of 2006, PACHECO, a reputed member of the “Carolina Boys” street gang, sold heroin and crack cocaine, or facilitated the sale of the drugs, to an individual working with law enforcement.

PACHECO, who has multiple felony convictions dating to 1991, has been detained since his arrest on September 29, 2006.

This investigation was a collaborative effort of the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and the Waterbury Police Department’s Gang Task Force.
