AUG 28 -- Steven W. Derr, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration for New Englang and Nora R. Dannehy, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that RICARDO MEDINA, 40, last residing on Milne Street in Bridgeport, was sentenced today by United States District Judge Stefan R. Underhill in Bridgeport to 57 months of imprisonment, followed by for years of supervised release. On February 12, 2008, MEDINA pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and heroin.

According to documents filed with the Court and statements made in court, a federal search warrant executed at MEDINA’s residence at 152 Milne Street yielded quantities of heroin and cocaine, six firearms and assorted ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and surveillance cameras that MEDINA had installed to monitor law enforcement activity.

MEDINA has forfeited to the Government the six firearms and ammunition.

MEDINA has been detained since his arrest on October 4, 2006.

This matter was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Bridgeport Drug Task Force.
