friendly page] Bridgeport Woman Admits Role in Danbury-Area Crack Distribution Ring OCT 30 -- Steven W. Derr, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration for New England and Nora R. Dannehy, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that SHURIKA ROSADO-THOMPSON, 36, of Ives Court, Bridgeport, pleaded guilty today before Senior United States District Judge Peter C. Dorsey in New Haven to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, 50 grams or more of cocaine base (“crack cocaine”). According to court documents and statements made in court, ROSADO-THOMPSON and others were involved in a crack cocaine distribution ring in and around Danbury that served dozens of customers. The DEA Task Force investigation, which included controlled purchases of narcotics and court-authorized wiretaps over several telephones, revealed that ROSADO-THOMPSON and a co-defendant regularly obtained large quantities of cocaine, which they converted, or “cooked,” into crack cocaine. They then employed other individuals to distribute the crack to customers. Judge Dorsey has scheduled sentencing for January 18, 2010, at which time ROSADO-THOMPSON faces a maximum term of imprisonment of life and a fine of up to $4 million. ROSADO-THOMPSON also has agreed to forfeit all interest in approximately $14,000 in cash that was seized, a 2006 Ford Explorer and her interest in her Ives Court residence. ROSADO-THOMPSON has been detained since her arrest on May 1, 2009. This matter was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force – which includes representatives from the Greenwich, Stamford, Norwalk, Stratford and Bridgeport Police Departments – in cooperation with the Danbury Police Special Investigations Division. The New Milford Police Department also assisted in the investigation.
