Kentucky Crack Cocaine Dealer Sentenced
to Spend 55 Months in Federal Prison
One crack cocaine sale took place in parking lot of Cracker Barrel Restaurant

JAN 22 -- LOUISVILLE, KY - U.S. Attorney David L. Huber of the Western District of Kentucky announced today that on January 20 th, 2009, Ronald Melvin Johnson, age 31, of 4817 St. Leo Place, Louisville, Kentucky, was sentenced to 4 years and 9 months in federal prison for charges of distributing "crack" cocaine. U.S. District Judge Thomas B. Russell, Judge, also sentenced to Johnson to 3 years supervised release following incarceration. There is no parole in the federal judicial system.

In a written plea agreement, Johnson admitted that on April 30, 2008, he sold 11 grams of crack cocaine to an individual for $700 in the Cracker Barrel parking lot on Brooks Road in Bullitt County, Kentucky. Johnson also admitted that on May 20, 2008, he sold 55 grams of crack cocaine to an unidentified individual for $2,300 at Second Street and Wellington Street in Jefferson County, Kentucky. The street value of the drugs is approximately $6,900, based upon a street value of approximately $100 per gram.

U.S. Attorney Huber praised the cooperation exhibited in the investigation by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Hardin County Drug Task Force. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney John E. Kuhn, Jr.
