APR 7 -- LOUISVILLE, KY - Acting U.S. Attorney Candace G. Hill of the Western District of Kentucky announced today that a federal Grand Jury in Louisville returned an Indictment charging Kenneth Wesley Hillman, age 47,of Lebanon, Kentucky, with growing more than 100 marijuana plants on his property.

In the event of a conviction, the maximum potential penalties are 40 years incarceration and up to $2,000,000 in fines, and 4 years of supervised release. The charges carry a minimum term of imprisonment of 5 years.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney John E. Kuhn, Jr., and it was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Hillman is scheduled to appear for arraignment before the United States Magistrate Judge on April 21, 2009, at 9:30 a.m., in Louisville, Kentucky.

The indictment of a person by Grand Jury is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
