Former Kentucky Pharmacy Owner Charged with
Illegal Distribution of Hydrocodone

MAY 11 -- BOWLING GREEN, KY - An Information was filed by the United States Attorney charging Hunter Patton Vann, age 39, of Glasgow, Kentucky, in Barren County, with illegally distributing hydrocodone, Acting U.S. Attorney Candace G. Hill of the Western District of Kentucky announced today.

The Information alleges that on between August 2006 and June 2008, Vann illegally distributed hydrocodone, an addictive Schedule III controlled pain killer. Vann is the former owner of Pharmacy Express in Glasgow, Kentucky.

In the event of a conviction, the maximum potential penalties are 5 years’ imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, and supervised release for a period of 3 years.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David Weiser, and it was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Barren County Drug Task Force.

Vann is scheduled to appear for arraignment before the United States Magistrate Judge on May 27, 2009, at 11:45 a.m., in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
