JUN 23 -- LOUISVILLE, KY - Acting U.S. Attorney Candace G. Hill of the Western District of Kentucky announced today that Michael Walker, age 48, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, in Bullitt County, pled guilty to possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute it.

Walker admitted that on August 9, 2008, he was found in possession of 109 grams of methamphetamine powder in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant in Radcliff, Kentucky. After he was arrested, Walker consented to a search of his residence in Bullitt County where law enforcement officials another 95 grams of methamphetamine powder, along with scales, packaging materials and a 9 millimeter semi-automatic pistol.

The maximum potential penalties are life in prison, a $4,000,000 fine, and supervised release for a period of life. The minimum potential penalties are 10 years in prison and supervised release for a period of 8 years.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Thomas W. Dyke, and

was investigated by the U.S Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Meade County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bullitt County Drug Task Force.

The plea was entered before U.S. District Judge John G. Heyburn II, in Louisville, Kentucky. Walker is scheduled to be sentenced before Judge Heyburn on September 29, 2009, at 11:45 a.m., in Louisville, Kentucky.
