JUL 01 -- PADUCAH, KY - Acting U.S. Attorney Candace G. Hill of the Western District of Kentucky announced today that Carolyn Jean Craven, of Benton, Kentucky, was sentenced to 11 years and 3 months in federal prison for conspiracy with intent to distribute and distribution of methamphetamine. U.S. District Judge Thomas B. Russell also sentenced Craven to 5 years supervised release following incarceration. There is no parole in the federal judicial system.

Craven pled guilty on November 20, 2008, and admitted to selling multiple ounces of methamphetamine in Benton, Marshall County, Kentucky, during 2006 and 2007. She admitted to selling the drug for $1,600 per ounce.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michele Thielhorn, and it was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Kentucky State Police and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
