friendly page] Two Illegal Aliens Indicted for Meth Distribution in Kentucky
JUL 15 -- PADUCAH, KY - Acting United States Attorney Candace G. Hill of the Western District of Kentucky announced today that on July 14, 2009, a federal grand jury in Paducah, Kentucky, returned an indictment against Jose Andres Francisco, age 24, address unknown, and Diego Mendez-Lopez, age 22, address unknown, on charges of distributing more than 50 grams of methamphetamine. The Indictment alleges that on June 17, 2009, in Graves County, Kentucky, the defendants intentionally possessed with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance. In the event of a conviction, the maximum potential penalties are life imprisonment, a $4,000,000 fine, and supervised release for life; and the minimum potential penalties are 10 years imprisonment and supervised release for a period of 5 years. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Larry Fentress and it was investigated by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The defendants are scheduled to appear for arraignment before the United States Magistrate Judge on July 15, 2009, at 9:30 a.m. in Paducah, Kentucky. * * * The indictment of a person by a Grand Jury is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. |
