AUG 17 -- LOUISVILLE, KY - Candace G. Hill, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky, announced today that on August 12, 2009, Jaudon Augustus Logan, age 29, of Louisville, Kentucky, was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment to be followed by five years’ supervised release, by United States District Judge Charles R. Simpson. There is no parole in the federal judicial system. Logan had previously entered a plea of guilty to an Information charging him with conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute 100 kilograms or more of marijuana.

At the time of his guilty plea, Logan admitted to receiving multiple kilogram quantities of marijuana shipped by a commercial carrier from Las Vegas, Nevada to Louisville, Kentucky. The defendant received the marijuana shipments via Federal Express (Fed Ex), and, conspiring with Brian Fish, an employee of Fed Ex, was able to receive these shipments without the company's knowledge. During the course of the conspiracy, the defendant received approximately 400 to 700 kilograms of marijuana. Brian Fish is currently scheduled for trial on September 15, 2009, in State Court in Southern Indiana.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mac Shannon, and it was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
