OCT 01 -- LOUISVILLE, KY - Michael Walker, age 49, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in United States District Court, Louisville, Kentucky, for possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute it, U.S. Attorney Candace G. Hill of the Western District of Kentucky announced today. John G. Heyburn, II, Judge, United States District Court, also sentenced Walker to 5 years supervised release following incarceration. There is no parole in the federal judicial system.

During his guilty plea, Walker admitted that he was arrested with 109 grams of methamphetamine powder in Radcliff, Kentucky on August 8, 2008. After he was arrested, Walker agreed to allow police to search his residence in Bullitt County, where police discovered another 95 grams of methamphetamine powder, along with scales, packaging materials and a 9 millimeter semi-automatic handgun. Walker admitted that he intended to distribute the methamphetamine powder found by police.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Thomas W. Dyke, and was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Meade County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bullitt County Drug Task Force.
